One week ago, the 200 member Jewish community of the small Georgian city of Gori came under fire when the battle began between Russian and Georgian forces.

Within hours, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Joint Distribution Committee were on the scene with food, water, and medicine. For those whose lives were in jeopardy, JDC and JAFI took them to safe havens... even providing emergency Aliyah… all the way to Israel.

JDC and JAFI get their support from federations…like UJA NNJ. When you make a contribution to UJA NNJ you’re helping JDC and JAFI deploy rapidly to save lives.
